My Heart's Desire

Every time I asked Strawberry what she wanted for Christmas she gave me a different answer. It might have been a smart move to get more stuff but it actually was that commercialism hasn't hit her yet. She didn't know what she wanted.

She ended up getting an Aquadoodle Mat and her little sister scored a new Little People set. They both got books, movies and music. Buttercup oooh'ed and aaaah'ed as every item was unwrapped.

It was an iPod for Colin. He's been up to all hours organizing his music. Our digital camera started acting up and I've wanted to upgrade for a while. Lucky me. I got a new one! Now we all have new toys to play with.

There was one thing that I wanted even more and I got it too! Our seventeen month old Buttercup took two steps on her own. I burst out sweet tears of joy!

On a sad note, Colin's family dog Koira passed away on Christmas day. We discovered that her lungs were full of liquid and a lump on her chest turned out to be cancer. Koi was the fastest dog in the park. She was calm, trusting and dearly loved.

We couldn't help pondering why Boxing Day Sales didn't extend to all businesses. Colin and I spent a little time coming up with some places that we'd like to see have super specials. We want blow out sales at liquor stores, gas stations and Tim Horton's. That would make us happy campers.

YAY for everyone getting toys!

Sorry to read about the family dog, that is so sad.

Missed Boxing Day this year ... Americans so do not know how to shop after Christmas!

Ooo what I would do for a Boston Cream donut from Tim's ....

w00t on walking Buttercup!

Aw! So sorry to hear about the family dog. So sad. :(

However, it does sound that a good time was had by you and the kids on Christmas. Chicky is crazy in love with her Aquadoodle mat. I know Strawberry is going to love her's as well. And Buttercup is walking?! Yay Buttercup!

Walking for Christmas - what could be sweeter?! Go Buttercup!

Sorry to hear about the family dog; it's hard to lose beloved family pets.

Oh man! ON Christmas Day? I guess (if you are religious) you could look at it as some divine kind of thing that Koira died on the day of the birth of Jesus.

Regardless though, it is very sad losing a member of the family.

He looks like a great dog. I love how he has a white beard.

Congrats on the steps! I'm sorry about Koira.

Yes, wouldn't it be nice if Shiraz went on %50 off.

Yay, Buttercup! Good job, giving your mom what she wanted! I love the aquadoodle mat too, so great for shipping with them to grandparents with no mess.

And sorry to hear about Koi. It's a sad thing when an old beloved passes on.

I am sorry for your loss (and happy for your new toys). I didn't know what Tim Horton's was until I clicked the link. What a great picture! Ada wanders around saying "coffee! coffee! coffee!" - she doesn't drnik it, but she recognizes her parents are addicted.

I know, why can't liquor go on sale? Makes me want to take a quick trip to the US to get cheap booze.

So sorry about Koi.

So sorry to hear about the dog. What an awful thing Christmas day.

Think of what buttercup will be doing this time next year - running around at full speed no doubt.

I'd be totally in if there were real sales at the Lick-bo. We need to stock up on gin. :)

Oh....so sad about Koira. She looks like an elegant old lady. I hope it was quick for her sake.

Your girls sound delighted with their presents and congrats on the baby steps!

And how did you do the Warhol of Strawberry?????????
