What A Girl Wants
To all the lovely Canadian online stores:
Please note that the Canadian dollar is now worth more than the US dollar. So please charge me the US price or adjust your pricing. Until then I'll be ordering from US online stores. (US stores need not adjust your pricing.) Thank you.
Don't these pink sugar bath treats look divine?
When it comes to small ticket items, a thirty cent overcharge is not a big deal. However our strangely strong dollar is finding Canadians facing a huge discrepancy on items that sell for hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars less in the USA like electronics and vehicles.
I want to know how long it will be before retailers start adjusting their prices or if Canadians are willing to go to the US to do more of their shopping. I don't truly understand the varying rates of duty when you factor in the free trade agreement.
At the risk of sounding like a girl, I just want my pretty stuff at a good price.
8 Singing the blues:
A friend of mine recently went to Buffalo to buy all the stuff for her new baby's nursery. It was totally worth it for them.
I wish more stores (HINT HINT BATH & BODY WORKS) would ship to Canada.
I hear ya. I think the publishing industry is probably the worst - have you seen the price discrepancies on the backs of books?!
(of course you have, I'm just sayin...)
Yes. I hear Texas is an EXCELLENT place for Canadians to shop. You should visit. Immediately. ;)
L1 is roughly equivalent to US$2 right now.
We are so going shopping when I get back to the states later this month, the first time in almost 3 years, I might add...
I like a deal, the banker even more so than me so it is not a girly thing.
I've been doin a little online shopping. Even with shipping it works out cheaper w is perfect for US sites I can usually not justify.
See - things are starting to turn around for me. I said to the universe 'what else ya got for me this year?' and this is my answer.
I'm thinking its time for another trip south of the border! Wooheee!
AMEN - I was just saying this the other night to SB. I want my pretty stuff at a good price too sister friend!
I know! There's this jacket I totally want that is like $90 or $100 us or $130 canadian. Hello? But the crappy thing is that to drive cross-border would cost the difference, and to order something bigger across the border, it gets stopped and taxed and that ridiculous brokerage fee gets put on, so it would end up being more. Can't win...
